Description
Description
AC Infinity Flexible Ducting 6" (AI-DTA6) is a 25-foot, four-layer aluminum flexible duct engineered for controlled-environment ventilation runs where rigid duct cannot reach — replacing single-wall foil ducting that collapses, leaks, and fails under sustained airflow pressure.
- Outcome: Sealed, low-resistance airflow across 25 linear feet of flexible run in tight or irregular routing paths.
- Replaces: Single-layer foil duct, unbraced flex duct, and improvised duct tape repairs that degrade under continuous fan operation.
- Environment: Controlled-environment grow rooms, HVAC trunk lines, equipment cooling runs, and inline fan exhaust systems.

Precision Control in Any Space
Every uncontrolled air leak in a ventilation run is a compounding liability. Single-wall foil duct collapses under negative pressure, tears at bend points, and bleeds conditioned air into wall cavities and ceiling voids where it does nothing for your canopy. The result is a fan system working at full draw to compensate for a duct that is quietly failing — driving up energy consumption, destabilizing VPD targets, and forcing manual intervention every time a connection slips or a wall of foil buckles. Equipment that fights your airflow design does not announce itself with an alarm; it erodes your environmental precision one percentage point at a time until the numbers stop making sense.
After deployment, the ventilation run behaves as designed. Airflow reaches its destination at the volume and pressure the fan was sized to deliver. Inline fan controllers hold their programmed setpoints because the duct is not bleeding pressure between the fan and the exhaust point. Atmospheric control becomes a function of equipment calibration rather than a daily negotiation with failing infrastructure. The 25-foot run routes through tight corridors, around equipment racks, and into hard-to-reach ceiling penetrations without kinking, collapsing, or requiring re-routing every maintenance cycle.
The mechanism behind that stability is a four-layer wall construction that addresses the two primary failure modes of flexible duct simultaneously. The interior carries a heavy-duty dual aluminum foil layer rated as fire and flame resistant, maintaining bore geometry under sustained negative pressure. The exterior wraps that core in dual PVC thermoplastic, which absorbs the abrasion, cuts, and compression loads that occur when duct is routed through framing, around equipment, or across concrete floors. A continuous steel-wire spiral runs the full 300-inch length, providing the structural backbone that prevents collapse at bend radii where single-wall duct fails. The 6-inch diameter (15.2 cm) is sized for standard inline fan collars across the most common controlled-environment configurations, and the tube can be shortened to exact run length for any installation. In practical terms, the AI-DTA6 delivers a sealed, structurally reinforced 25-foot airflow path at 6-inch diameter with four-layer wall protection and includes two stainless steel duct clamps for immediate termination at both ends.
Where This Belongs (and Doesn't)
This ducting is a passive airflow component. It does not replace inline fan controllers, carbon filter housings, or motorized dampers. Installations involving electrical penetrations, fire-rated assemblies, or commercial HVAC trunk systems must be reviewed by a licensed mechanical contractor. Verify local building and fire codes before routing through wall cavities or ceiling plenums.
Confirmed Deployment Environments
- Controlled-environment grow rooms and sealed tent enclosures
- Inline fan exhaust and intake runs (4"–12" collar configurations)
- Carbon filter to fan connections requiring flexible routing
- HVAC supply and return branch runs in residential and light commercial builds
- AV equipment room, rack, and cabinet cooling runs
- Dryer exhaust venting where flexible transition is required
- Attic and bathroom exhaust fan termination runs
Not Recommended For
- High-pressure positive-pressure supply mains requiring rigid sheet metal
- Underground or direct-burial duct runs
- Applications requiring UL 181 listed flexible air duct certification (verify with AHJ)
- Exhaust runs carrying grease-laden air (commercial kitchen hood systems)
- Installations where local code mandates rigid duct throughout
How It Works
The AI-DTA6 is built around a four-layer wall architecture that separates structural, thermal, and mechanical protection functions into discrete material layers rather than relying on a single material to perform all three. This is the engineering distinction between duct that holds its geometry under load and duct that deforms, leaks, and requires replacement.
Layer 1 and 2 — Interior Dual Aluminum Foil: The innermost two layers are heavy-duty dual aluminum foil. Aluminum foil maintains a smooth bore surface that minimizes friction loss across the 300-inch run length, and the dual-layer construction provides fire and flame resistance at the airflow boundary — the layer most directly exposed to heat from exhaust air, lighting fixtures, and equipment cooling loads. This interior assembly resists the thermal cycling that causes single-layer foil to crack and delaminate over time.
Layer 3 and 4 — Exterior Dual PVC Thermoplastic: The outer two layers are dual PVC thermoplastic. PVC absorbs the mechanical abuse that occurs during installation and in-service routing — contact with framing lumber, conduit, equipment enclosures, and concrete surfaces. The dual-layer exterior stops cuts and tears from propagating to the aluminum core and provides the leak-stopping outer membrane that keeps conditioned air inside the duct bore. A single-layer foil exterior has no mechanical buffer between the aluminum and the installation environment; the AI-DTA6's PVC shell eliminates that vulnerability.
Steel-Wire Spiral Reinforcement: A continuous steel-wire spiral runs the full 300-inch (25 ft) length of the duct. The spiral maintains bore geometry at bend radii where unsupported flexible duct collapses and restricts airflow. It also allows the duct to be routed through hard-to-reach spaces — behind equipment, through framing bays, around corners — without requiring rigid support at every contact point. The steel-wire structure is what makes the duct genuinely flexible rather than simply collapsible.
Dimensional and Accessory Specification: The duct diameter is 6 inches (15.2 cm), matching the collar diameter of the most widely deployed inline fans in controlled-environment configurations. Total run length is 300 inches (25 ft). The tube can be shortened to any required run length using standard sheet metal shears or a utility knife, allowing exact-fit installation without excess duct that would otherwise be coiled and left to restrict airflow. Two stainless steel 6-inch duct clamps are included, providing immediate mechanical termination at both the fan collar and the exhaust or intake terminus without requiring a separate hardware order. In practical terms, the AI-DTA6 delivers a 300-inch sealed airflow bore at 6-inch diameter with four-layer wall construction, steel-wire spiral reinforcement, and two included stainless steel clamps ready for same-session installation.

System Integration
- Inline Fan Compatibility: The 6-inch (15.2 cm) diameter collar matches the standard outlet and inlet diameter of inline duct fans across the most common controlled-environment configurations. Confirm collar diameter on your specific fan model before ordering.
- Carbon Filter Connection: Routes directly between carbon filter flange and inline fan inlet for odor-control exhaust runs. The steel-wire spiral maintains bore geometry at the bend between filter and fan, preventing the flow restriction that occurs when unsupported duct collapses at this junction.
- Atmospheric Control Ecosystem: Functions as the airflow conduit within a broader atmospheric control ecosystem — connecting fan controllers, carbon filters, and exhaust terminations into a sealed, measurable ventilation circuit. Duct integrity is a prerequisite for accurate fan controller setpoint performance.
- Length Management: The 300-inch (25 ft) run can be shortened to exact installation length. Excess duct length left coiled in a run increases static pressure and reduces effective airflow volume — cut to measured run length for optimal system performance.
- Clamp Termination: Two included stainless steel 6-inch duct clamps provide mechanical seal at both termination points. Stainless steel construction resists corrosion in high-humidity controlled environments where standard zinc-plated clamps degrade over time.

Operator Field Note
- Cut before you clamp. Measure the actual run distance and cut the duct to length before terminating with the included clamps. A coiled excess section left in the run creates a pressure drop that reduces effective CFM at the exhaust point — this is a common installation error that undermines fan controller accuracy.
- Bend radius matters. The steel-wire spiral maintains bore geometry at moderate bend radii, but sharp 90-degree bends over short distances will still restrict airflow. Route with gradual curves wherever the installation path allows. Each hard bend adds static pressure equivalent to several feet of straight run.
- Clamp torque on aluminum foil. The included stainless steel clamps provide a mechanical seal, but over-tightening will compress and deform the foil layers at the collar. Tighten to snug contact — not maximum torque. The PVC outer layer provides enough body to hold the clamp without deforming the bore.
- High-humidity environments. The stainless steel clamps are specified for corrosion resistance in high-humidity controlled environments. If substituting clamps from other sources, verify stainless steel construction — zinc-plated clamps will corrode and lose clamping force over time in humid grow room conditions.
- Diameter verification before ordering. Confirm the collar diameter on your inline fan and carbon filter before selecting duct diameter. A 6-inch duct on a 4-inch collar requires a reducer fitting not included with this product. Ordering the correct diameter eliminates a return and re-order cycle.
- Fire resistance is a layer property, not a system certification. The internal dual aluminum foil layer is fire and flame resistant. This is a material property of the interior layer. It does not constitute a UL 181 listing or a fire-rated assembly certification. Verify local code requirements for duct installations in fire-rated wall or ceiling assemblies before routing.
Operator FAQ
Q: What is the exact diameter and length of the AI-DTA6?
A: The AI-DTA6 has a diameter of 6 inches (15.2 cm) and a total length of 300 inches (25 ft). The tube can be shortened to any required run length using standard sheet metal shears or a utility knife. No special tooling is required for field trimming.
Q: What are the four layers in the four-layer construction?
A: The four layers consist of two interior layers of heavy-duty dual aluminum foil (fire and flame resistant, forming the airflow bore) and two exterior layers of dual PVC thermoplastic (protecting the aluminum core from cuts, tears, and mechanical abrasion while stopping air leakage). A continuous steel-wire spiral runs the full length of the duct to maintain bore geometry under negative pressure and at bend points.
Q: What duct clamps are included, and are they sufficient for a complete installation?
A: Two stainless steel 6-inch duct clamps are included with the AI-DTA6. These are sufficient to terminate both ends of a single run — one at the fan collar and one at the exhaust or intake terminus. Stainless steel construction is specified for corrosion resistance in high-humidity environments. If your installation requires intermediate connections or additional termination points, additional clamps must be sourced separately.
Q: Is the AI-DTA6 compatible with all 6-inch inline fans?
A: The AI-DTA6 is sized at 6 inches (15.2 cm) to match the standard 6-inch collar diameter used across the majority of inline duct fans in controlled-environment configurations. Compatibility requires that your specific fan model uses a 6-inch collar. Verify the collar diameter on your fan and carbon filter before ordering. If your equipment uses a different collar diameter, select the corresponding duct diameter from the product line — 4-inch, 8-inch, 10-inch, or 12-inch variants are available.
Q: What is the warranty on the AI-DTA6?
A: Warranty duration is not specified in the source data for the AI-DTA6 or any variant in this product line. The manufacturer's warranty applies to units purchased through authorized channels. Contact Cannafull Spectrum Solutions or the manufacturer directly for current warranty terms before purchase if warranty coverage is a procurement requirement.
Q: Can this duct be used for dryer exhaust or bathroom fan venting?
A: The AI-DTA6 is designed for ventilation applications including HVAC, dryer, and grow room and tent installations per manufacturer application data. For dryer exhaust specifically, local building codes in many jurisdictions impose restrictions on flexible duct length, material type, and routing path for dryer venting. Verify current local code requirements with your authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) before using flexible duct for dryer exhaust. The internal aluminum foil layer provides fire and flame resistance, but this is a material property and does not constitute a code-compliance certification for dryer exhaust applications in all jurisdictions.

Regional Compliance & Deployment Notes
- Jurisdiction Scope: This product is sold and shipped within the contiguous 48 United States only. Cannafull Spectrum Solutions does not ship to Canadian provinces or international destinations.
- Building Code Compliance: Flexible duct installation requirements vary by jurisdiction. Local building codes, mechanical codes (including IMC and local amendments), and fire codes govern acceptable duct materials, run lengths, and routing paths. Verify compliance with your authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) before installation — particularly for dryer exhaust, fire-rated assembly penetrations, and commercial HVAC applications.
- Dryer Exhaust Regulations: Many jurisdictions impose specific restrictions on flexible duct use in dryer exhaust applications, including maximum run length, prohibition of flexible duct in concealed spaces, and material certification requirements. Consult local code and the appliance manufacturer's installation instructions before using flexible duct for dryer exhaust.
- Fire-Rated Assembly Penetrations: Routing flexible duct through fire-rated wall or ceiling assemblies requires compliance with applicable fire codes and may require listed firestop systems at penetration points. The fire and flame resistance of the internal aluminum foil layer is a material property and does not substitute for a listed fire-rated assembly. Consult a licensed mechanical contractor and your AHJ for fire-rated penetration requirements.
- Licensed Facility Deployment: For licensed commercial cultivation facilities, ventilation system modifications may require permit and inspection. Confirm permit requirements with your local building department before modifying existing ventilation infrastructure.
- UL Listing Status: UL 181 listing status for this product is not specified in source data. If your installation or local code requires UL 181 listed flexible air duct, verify listing status with the manufacturer before purchase.
