Precision Control in Any Space
The enemy is guesswork — and in a sealed cultivation environment, guesswork has a direct operating cost. When airflow components are mismatched, odor compounds accumulate faster than the carbon bed can adsorb them, filter media exhausts unevenly, and the operator is left cycling replacements on an unpredictable schedule. Ducting that leaks at the seams or collapses under negative pressure turns every air exchange cycle into a variable, not a constant. Speed controllers without range authority leave the operator choosing between too much noise and too little draw. Every one of these failure modes compounds: uncontrolled atmospheric conditions create inconsistent results, and inconsistent results erode the operational confidence that a craft facility depends on.
After deployment, the atmospheric control picture changes. The carbon bed is drawing at a calibrated rate matched to the enclosure volume, odor molecules are being adsorbed at the filter's rated capacity rather than bypassing through leaks or dead zones, and the speed controller gives the operator precise authority over airflow without manual guesswork. The ducting runs clean — no collapsed sections, no pinhole leaks — and the fan operates at a noise floor that does not interfere with adjacent work. Maintenance intervals are predictable: the reversible flange design extends carbon bed life by distributing load across both faces, and the included prefilter intercepts particulates before they reach the carbon layer. The facility runs quieter, cleaner, and on a schedule the operator controls.
The mechanism behind that outcome is an integrated assembly engineered to eliminate the tolerance gaps between components. The sealed inline duct fan delivers 724 CFM peak airflow against 746 Pa of static pressure, drawing 190 W at maximum load and averaging 72 W at 2.80 A under normal operating conditions. Dual ball bearings rated to 67,000 hours support mounting in horizontal, vertical, or inverted orientation without bearing wear penalty. The IP44-rated housing resists liquid ingress and dust infiltration, making it viable in high-humidity environments operating up to 85% RH. The RC412 activated carbon filter uses premium Australian charcoal with a 1200+ IAV rating and RC412 microporosity, delivering adsorption capacity up to 33% greater than standard inline filters at a maximum airflow rating of 770 CFM — matched to the fan's output. The carbon filter's aluminum flanges are reversible, allowing the operator to flip the carbon bed and extend service life before replacement. The four-layer flexible ducting — dual PVC thermoplastic outer, flame-resistant aluminum foil inner, steel wire internal support — spans 25 feet and maintains structural integrity under the negative pressure the fan generates. The speed controller connects via a 72-inch cord to the fan and a 72-inch cord to the plug, providing placement flexibility within the enclosure. In practical terms, the AC Infinity Air Filtration Kit 8" delivers 724 CFM of controlled airflow through a 1200+ IAV RC412 carbon bed across 25 feet of four-layer ducting at a maximum draw of 190 W and an average operating load of 72 W.
Where This Belongs (and Doesn't)
Electrical installation must comply with all applicable local codes. Ductwork routing and static pressure calculations should be verified by a qualified HVAC technician for installations exceeding single-enclosure scope. This kit is rated for 100–240V AC / 50–60 Hz; confirm supply voltage before installation.
Designed For
- Sealed cultivation enclosures requiring active odor control and negative pressure maintenance
- Moisture-prone environments operating between 32–140°F and 35–85% RH
- Single-room or multi-zone atmospheric control where 724 CFM airflow capacity is appropriate to the enclosure volume
- Operators requiring variable speed authority without external controller dependency for basic operation
- Installations where ducting routing requires up to 25 feet of flexible run between fan and exhaust point
Not the Right Fit For
- Installations requiring airflow capacity beyond 724 CFM peak or static pressure beyond 746 Pa
- Ducting runs exceeding 25 feet without supplemental duct sections
- Environments operating outside the 32–140°F temperature range or above 85% RH
- Applications requiring hard-duct rigid installation where flexible aluminum foil ducting is not code-compliant
- Facilities requiring automated temperature-triggered fan control without a separately sourced compatible controller (B-Series Temperature Controller, CONTROLLER UNC529, or CONTROLLER 69)
How It Works
Inline Fan — Sealed Drive Assembly: The S-Series inline duct fan is built around dual ball bearings rated to 67,000 hours of continuous operation, supporting mounting in horizontal, vertical, or inverted orientation without degrading bearing life. The IP44-rated housing seals the motor assembly against liquid ingress and dust infiltration, qualifying the unit for high-humidity cultivation environments. Peak airflow is 724 CFM against 746 Pa of static pressure. Maximum power draw is 190 W; average operating power is 72 W at 2.80 A. Input voltage range is 100–240V AC at 50/60 Hz, accepting both domestic and international supply without a transformer. The fan unit measures 12.20 x 10 x 9.37 in. (31 x 25.4 x 23.8 cm). The power connector is a US Plug (NEMA 1-15 Type-A).
Speed Controller — Variable Authority: The included speed controller provides variable airflow authority across the fan's operating range. Controller dimensions are 2.70 x 1.37 x 0.55 in. (6.9 x 3.5 x 1.4 cm). Mounting hole-to-hole distance is 3.54 x 1.96 in. (9.0 x 5.0 cm) with a screw hole diameter of 0.217 in. (0.55 cm). The cord from the fan to the controller is 72 in. (6 feet); the cord from the controller to the plug is 72 in. (6 feet). For automated temperature-triggered or programmable control, the fan is compatible with the B-Series Temperature Controller, CONTROLLER UNC529, and CONTROLLER 69 as separately sourced external devices.
RC412 Activated Carbon Filter — Adsorption Architecture: The carbon filter uses premium Australian activated charcoal with a 1200+ IAV rating and RC412 microporosity. The 1200+ IAV rating quantifies the internal adsorption volume available to capture odor molecules; RC412 microporosity describes the pore structure that maximizes surface contact per unit of carbon mass. The result is adsorption capacity up to 33% greater than standard inline filters. The carbon layer is 38mm thick. Maximum airflow rating for the filter is 770 CFM — matched to the fan's 724 CFM output. The filter's duct opening is 8", with total dimensions of 19.8 x 10.94 in. (50.3 x 27.8 cm) and a flange length of 3.39 in. (8.6 cm). Flanges are aluminum construction with a reversible design, allowing the operator to flip the carbon bed to distribute adsorption load across both faces and extend service life. Galvanized steel mesh allows 100% air passthrough without restriction. An included prefilter intercepts particulates upstream of the carbon layer, protecting the carbon bed from premature loading.
Four-Layer Flexible Ducting — Structural Integrity Under Negative Pressure: The 8-inch ducting spans 300 in. (25 ft) and is constructed in four layers: dual PVC thermoplastic outer layers resist cuts, tears, and air leakage; flame-resistant aluminum foil inner layers protect against wear from warmer airflow; internal steel wires retain the duct's circular cross-section under negative pressure and during routing around bends. The 25-foot length provides routing flexibility to accommodate enclosure geometry without splicing. In practical terms, the AC Infinity Air Filtration Kit 8" integrates a 724 CFM IP44-rated fan, a 1200+ IAV RC412 carbon filter rated to 770 CFM, and 25 feet of four-layer flexible ducting into a single atmospheric control assembly drawing 72 W average at 2.80 A.

Facility Integration Data
The following ROI reference data is provided to assist procurement and operations teams in projecting fleet-level electrical load and unit economics for the AC-FKS8 at scale. Average power draw (72 W) is used for operational cost modeling; maximum draw (190 W) is used for electrical capacity planning.
Fleet Electrical Load — Average Operating Power (72 W per unit)
| Fleet Size | Avg. Draw (kW) | Daily kWh (24 hr) | Annual kWh | Est. Annual Cost @ $0.12/kWh |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 Units | 0.72 kW | 17.3 kWh | 6,307 kWh | ~$757 |
| 20 Units | 1.44 kW | 34.6 kWh | 12,614 kWh | ~$1,514 |
| 50 Units | 3.60 kW | 86.4 kWh | 31,536 kWh | ~$3,784 |
Energy cost estimates use $0.12/kWh as a reference rate. Actual facility rates vary. Maximum draw per unit is 190 W / 2.80 A; use this figure for circuit capacity and breaker sizing. All figures are estimates for planning purposes only.
Operator Field Notes
- Carbon Bed Rotation: The reversible aluminum flange design allows the filter to be flipped, distributing adsorption load across both faces of the carbon bed. Execute this rotation before replacing the filter — it is the single highest-leverage maintenance action for extending carbon service life.
- Prefilter Priority: The included prefilter is the first-stage consumable. Inspect and replace the prefilter on a defined schedule before particulate loading reaches the carbon layer. A clogged prefilter increases static pressure load on the fan and accelerates carbon bed saturation.
- Static Pressure Budgeting: The fan is rated to 746 Pa. Long duct runs, tight bends, and a loaded carbon filter all consume static pressure budget. If airflow performance degrades before the carbon bed is due for rotation, audit the duct path for unnecessary bends or restrictions before attributing the loss to fan wear.
- Circuit Sizing: Maximum draw is 190 W at 2.80 A. For fleet deployments, size circuits using the maximum draw figure, not the average. Average power (72 W) is an operational efficiency metric, not a circuit planning input.
- Automated Control Upgrade Path: The included speed controller provides manual variable authority. For temperature-triggered or scheduled automated deployment, the fan is compatible with the B-Series Temperature Controller, CONTROLLER UNC529, and CONTROLLER 69 — all sourced separately. Integrating a compatible controller converts this kit from a manually adjusted component into a responsive atmospheric control node.
- Ducting Integrity Check: Before commissioning, run the fan at full speed and walk the entire 25-foot duct run with a hand near all connections and seams. Any detectable airflow at a joint indicates a leak that will reduce effective CFM at the filter face and allow odor bypass.
Operator FAQ
Q: What is the difference between the 724 CFM fan rating and the 770 CFM carbon filter rating — which number governs system performance?
A: The fan's 724 CFM is the governing airflow figure for the assembled system. The carbon filter's 770 CFM maximum rating means the filter is not the restriction — it can handle more airflow than the fan delivers. System airflow is always limited by the lowest-capacity component in the path, which in this assembly is the fan at 724 CFM peak. The filter rating provides headroom, ensuring the carbon bed is not flow-restricted at the fan's maximum output.
Q: How does the reversible flange design extend carbon filter service life?
A: Airflow through a carbon filter is directional — the face of the carbon bed that receives incoming air loads with odor molecules faster than the downstream face. The reversible aluminum flange design allows the operator to detach the filter, flip it 180 degrees, and reinstall it so that the previously downstream (less-loaded) face now receives incoming air. This distributes adsorption load across the full depth of the 38mm carbon layer rather than exhausting one face while the other remains underutilized. The result is a longer interval before the carbon bed reaches saturation and requires replacement.
Q: What does the IP44 rating mean in practical terms for a high-humidity cultivation environment?
A: IP44 is an IEC 60529 ingress protection rating. The first digit (4) indicates protection against solid objects greater than 1mm in diameter — including dust and particulates common in cultivation environments. The second digit (4) indicates protection against liquid splashing from any direction. In a high-humidity grow environment, this means the motor housing resists condensation splash, irrigation overspray, and ambient moisture within the rated operating humidity range of 35–85% RH. It does not mean the unit is submersible or rated for direct water jet exposure.
Q: Can this kit be controlled automatically by temperature or schedule without purchasing additional equipment?
A: No. The included speed controller provides manual variable speed authority only. Automated temperature-triggered or scheduled control requires a separately sourced compatible controller. The AC-FKS8 fan is compatible with the B-Series Temperature Controller, CONTROLLER UNC529, and CONTROLLER 69. These are external devices not included in this kit. For operators building a responsive atmospheric control ecosystem, adding a compatible controller is the recommended upgrade path.
Q: What is the 1200+ IAV rating on the RC412 carbon, and why does it matter for odor control performance?
A: IAV stands for Iodine Adsorption Value, a standardized measure of the internal surface area and adsorption capacity of activated carbon. A rating of 1200+ IAV indicates a high-density microporous carbon structure with substantial surface area available for odor molecule capture. The RC412 designation identifies the specific microporosity profile of the Australian charcoal used in this filter. Higher IAV correlates directly with greater adsorption capacity per unit of carbon mass — which is the mechanism behind the manufacturer's claim of up to 33% longer odor adsorption compared to standard inline filters using lower-grade carbon.
