Description

The AC Infinity Air Filtration Kit 4" (SKU: AC-FKS4) is a complete atmospheric control assembly — inline EC-motor fan, RC412 Australian activated carbon filter, speed controller, and four-layer ducting — engineered for operators who require consistent odor elimination and precise airflow management in compact or enclosed cultivation environments, replacing piecemeal fan-and-filter assemblies that introduce mismatched performance and uncontrolled atmospheric variance.

  • Outcome: Continuous odor scrubbing and repeatable airflow at operator-defined speeds, with 33% longer carbon bed service life versus standard inline filters.
  • Replaces: Mismatched inline fan and carbon filter combinations, fixed-speed controllers, and uninsulated single-layer ducting assemblies.
  • Environment: Enclosed cultivation rooms, propagation chambers, drying and curing spaces, and any sealed environment requiring active atmospheric management.

Precision Control in Any Space

The enemy is guesswork — and in a sealed cultivation environment, guesswork has a direct operating cost. When airflow is uncontrolled, odor migrates, humidity stratifies, and the atmospheric conditions that determine output quality become unpredictable from one cycle to the next. Fixed-speed fans either over-pressurize the space and waste energy, or under-deliver and allow odor breakthrough. Carbon filters with low-grade media saturate early and require replacement on no predictable schedule. Ducting that leaks at the seams or collapses under negative pressure turns every air exchange event into a variable — and variables compound. The result is an environment that requires constant manual intervention to hold within acceptable parameters, and still drifts.

After deployment, the environment stabilizes. Airflow runs at the exact speed the space requires — not the speed the hardware defaults to. Odor is captured at the source and scrubbed through a deep-bed activated carbon matrix before it can migrate. The carbon bed lasts longer because the prefilter intercepts particulate before it reaches the carbon layer, and the reversible flange design allows the bed to be rotated, distributing adsorption load evenly across the full media volume. The ducting holds its shape under negative pressure, maintains its seal at every connection point, and resists the thermal stress of continuous warm-air exhaust. The operator sets the parameters once and the system holds them.

The mechanism behind that stability is a matched assembly engineered to operate as a single atmospheric control unit. The EC-motor inline fan delivers 165 CFM at a maximum of 2,800 RPM, drawing 35W at peak and averaging 18W under normal operating conditions — 0.55A on any supply between 100 and 240V AC at 50/60Hz. The dual ball bearing motor carries a rated L10 life expectancy of 67,000 hours and is sealed to IP 44 against liquid ingress and dust. The S-Series speed controller uses PWM control to step fan speed across 10 discrete settings, enabling operation at extremely low RPMs without motor noise — a single-button interface with a circular readout display. The carbon filter is packed with RC412 Australian activated charcoal rated at 1200+ IAV, with 38mm carbon thickness and a maximum airflow rating of 210 CFM, housed in aluminum flanges with galvanized steel mesh for 100% air passthrough. The included 25-foot, four-layer ducting assembly — dual PVC thermoplastic outer, flame-resistant aluminum inner, steel wire internal support — connects the system without pressure loss. In practical terms, the AC Infinity Air Filtration Kit 4" delivers 165 CFM of filtered, odor-scrubbed airflow through a 4" duct circuit at an average draw of 18W and a peak draw of 35W.

Where This Belongs (and Doesn't)

This kit is a ventilation and odor control assembly. It is not a substitute for structural HVAC, electrical load management, or fire suppression systems. All electrical connections must comply with applicable local codes. Consult a licensed electrician before integrating into any fixed wiring circuit.

Optimal Deployment Environments

  • Enclosed cultivation tents and rooms up to the rated 165 CFM exchange volume
  • Propagation and clone chambers requiring low-noise, low-speed continuous airflow
  • Drying and curing rooms where odor containment is a compliance requirement
  • Multi-zone facilities using UIS-connected central controller management
  • Any 4" duct circuit requiring variable-speed atmospheric control

Not Designed For

  • Duct circuits requiring more than 165 CFM total airflow capacity
  • Environments with sustained ambient temperatures outside 0–140°F
  • Continuous submersion or direct water exposure beyond IP 44 splash resistance
  • Replacement of primary HVAC or commercial air handling units
  • 6" or 8" duct circuits (separate SKUs required)

How It Works

The AC-FKS4 operates as an integrated atmospheric control circuit. The EC-motor inline fan — an electronically commutated motor design — draws air through the 4" duct at up to 165 CFM and 2,800 RPM, generating up to 324 Pa of static pressure to overcome duct resistance across the included 25-foot run. EC-motor architecture eliminates the efficiency losses and heat generation associated with conventional AC induction motors, which is why average power consumption sits at 18W against a 35W maximum — the motor modulates its own draw in response to the PWM signal from the speed controller rather than running at fixed load. Noise output is rated at 29 dBA across the operating range. The fan unit measures 7.48 x 11.89 x 6.93 in. (19.0 x 30.2 x 17.6 cm) with a mounting hole-to-hole distance of 3.15 x 2.36 in. (8.0 x 6.0 cm) and 0.197 in. (0.5 cm) screw hole diameter. Dual ball bearings support the motor shaft, rated to an L10 life expectancy of 67,000 hours, and the dual ball bearing design permits horizontal or vertical mounting orientation without bearing load compromise. The IP 44 rating confirms sealed resistance to dust ingress and splashing liquids from any direction.

The S-Series speed controller connects via a 72-inch cord from the fan unit and a separate 72-inch cord to the wall plug (US NEMA 1-15 Type-A). The controller itself measures 2.70 x 1.37 x 0.55 in. (6.9 x 3.5 x 1.4 cm) and uses a single-button interface with a circular readout display to step through 10 discrete speed settings via PWM control. PWM modulation allows the fan to operate at extremely low RPMs without the motor noise that characterizes voltage-reduction speed control methods. The controller is compatible with the B-Series Temperature Controller, CONTROLLER UNC529, and CONTROLLER 69, and supports UIS connector integration for multi-device management from a single central controller. Bluetooth pairing with the AC Infinity app enables remote monitoring and adjustment.

Air exits the fan and passes through the 4-inch, 25-foot ducting assembly before entering or after exiting the carbon filter, depending on configuration. The ducting is constructed in four layers: dual PVC thermoplastic outer layers resist cuts, tears, and air leakage; a flame-resistant aluminum foil inner layer handles thermal stress from continuous warm exhaust; and internal steel wire coils maintain the duct's circular cross-section under negative pressure, preventing collapse that would reduce effective CFM. The carbon filter presents a 4" duct opening, measures 13.35 x 6.97 in. (33.3 x 17.7 cm) overall, with a 1.46 in. (3.7 cm) aluminum flange and a reversible flange design that allows the carbon bed to be flipped, distributing adsorption load across both faces of the media and extending service life. The carbon bed is 38mm thick, packed with RC412 Australian activated charcoal rated at 1200+ IAV, and the galvanized steel mesh housing allows 100% air passthrough without flow restriction. Maximum rated airflow through the filter is 210 CFM — above the fan's 165 CFM output, ensuring the filter is never the system's bottleneck. Two prefilter cloths are included to intercept particulate before it reaches the carbon layer, further extending carbon bed service intervals. In practical terms, the AC Infinity Air Filtration Kit 4" moves 165 CFM through a sealed four-layer 25-foot duct circuit and a 38mm RC412 carbon bed at 18W average draw, with a 67,000-hour rated motor and IP 44 environmental sealing.

Commercial Assurance

The AC Infinity Air Filtration Kit 4" (AC-FKS4) carries CE and RoHS certifications. The EC-motor inline fan is rated to an L10 life expectancy of 67,000 hours under standard operating conditions. The IP 44 ingress protection rating confirms resistance to dust and splashing liquids, supporting deployment in humid cultivation environments operating between 35 and 85% RH and 0 to 140°F ambient temperature.

Facility Integration Data

The following table models cumulative electrical load and average power consumption across multi-unit deployments of the AC-FKS4, based on rated specifications of 35W max / 18W average per unit at 0.55A draw.

Fleet Size Max Draw (W) Avg Draw (W) Total Current (A) Total CFM Capacity Annual Avg kWh (8,760 hrs)
10 Units 350W 180W 5.5A 1,650 CFM 1,577 kWh
20 Units 700W 360W 11.0A 3,300 CFM 3,154 kWh
50 Units 1,750W 900W 27.5A 8,250 CFM 7,884 kWh

Annual kWh calculated at average draw (18W) x 8,760 hours x unit count. Max draw figures reflect simultaneous full-speed operation. Actual consumption will vary based on speed controller settings and duty cycle. Consult a licensed electrician for circuit load planning before multi-unit deployment.

Operator Field Notes

  • Carbon Bed Rotation: The reversible aluminum flange design allows the carbon filter to be flipped, distributing adsorption load across both faces of the RC412 media bed. Rotating the filter at scheduled intervals — rather than waiting for odor breakthrough — extends service life measurably beyond the baseline 33% advantage over standard inline filters.
  • Prefilter Maintenance Interval: Two prefilter cloths are included. Replace or clean prefilters on a regular schedule to prevent particulate loading from reducing airflow through the carbon bed. A clogged prefilter will reduce effective CFM before the carbon media is exhausted, creating a false indicator of filter saturation.
  • Mounting Orientation: Dual ball bearings support horizontal or vertical mounting without bearing load asymmetry. Select mounting orientation based on duct routing geometry, not bearing constraints.
  • Low-Speed Operation: PWM control allows the fan to operate at extremely low RPMs without motor noise. For environments requiring near-silent operation — drying rooms, propagation chambers — dial to the lowest speed setting that maintains adequate air exchange, rather than cycling the fan on and off, which introduces pressure fluctuations.
  • Controller Upgrade Without Fan Replacement: The EC-motor is compatible with Controller 69, CONTROLLER UNC529, and the B-Series Temperature Controller. Upgrading to automated environment-responsive control does not require replacing the fan unit — only the controller changes.
  • Duct Integrity Check: The four-layer ducting assembly maintains its shape under negative pressure via internal steel wire coils. Inspect connection points at the fan and filter flanges after initial installation and after any repositioning to confirm airtight seating. Pressure loss at flange connections is the most common source of reduced system CFM in field deployments.

Operator FAQ

Q: What is the actual airflow difference between the fan's rated 165 CFM and the carbon filter's 210 CFM maximum — and does it matter?

A: The carbon filter's 210 CFM maximum airflow rating exceeds the fan's 165 CFM output by 45 CFM. This margin is intentional — it ensures the filter media is never the flow restriction in the system. If the filter's maximum airflow were equal to or below the fan's output, the filter housing would create back-pressure that reduces effective CFM and increases motor load. With the filter rated above the fan's capacity, the fan operates against its own duct resistance rather than against filter restriction, which preserves rated airflow and reduces wear on the motor bearings over the 67,000-hour service life.

Q: Can this kit be integrated into an existing UIS controller network, or does it require the included S-Series controller?

A: The AC-FKS4 fan unit is compatible with UIS connectors for integrated grow room management and supports connection to the B-Series Temperature Controller, CONTROLLER UNC529, and CONTROLLER 69. If you are deploying into an existing UIS network with a compatible central controller already in place, the fan unit can be connected directly to that controller. The included S-Series speed controller is a standalone option for operators who do not yet have a central controller, or who want manual 10-speed control at the unit level. The two are not mutually exclusive — the S-Series controller can remain in the circuit as a manual override point while the UIS network handles automated scheduling.

Q: What does the IP 44 rating mean in practical terms for a humid cultivation environment?

A: IP 44 certifies protection against solid objects greater than 1mm in diameter (dust, debris, insects) and against water splashing from any direction. In a cultivation environment operating between 35 and 85% RH, this means the fan motor and housing are sealed against condensation splash, irrigation overspray, and incidental water contact during routine maintenance. IP 44 does not certify protection against sustained water jets, immersion, or continuous drip from above. The fan should not be positioned directly beneath active irrigation lines or in locations where water pooling could contact the unit. Within those parameters, IP 44 is appropriate for the humidity range specified in the operating conditions.

Q: How does the 1200+ IAV rating on the RC412 Australian charcoal translate to actual filter service life?

A: IAV (Iodine Adsorption Value) measures the microporous surface area available for adsorption within the activated carbon — a higher IAV indicates more adsorption sites per gram of media. The RC412 grade at 1200+ IAV represents a high-density microporous structure that can capture more odor molecules before saturation compared to lower-IAV carbons. The manufacturer's claim is that this translates to up to 33% longer service life versus other inline filters. Actual service life depends on odor load (concentration and volume of terpenes and volatile compounds passing through the bed), airflow rate, ambient humidity, and whether the prefilter cloths are maintained on schedule. The reversible flange design allows the carbon bed to be flipped to distribute adsorption load, and consistent prefilter maintenance prevents particulate from prematurely blocking micropore access.

Q: The fan draws 0.55A. Can multiple units run on a single 15A circuit?

A: At 0.55A per unit at maximum draw, the theoretical maximum on a 15A circuit — applying the standard 80% continuous load rule, which limits the circuit to 12A continuous — is approximately 21 units. However, this calculation applies only to the AC-FKS4 units in isolation. Any other devices on the same circuit (lighting, environmental controls, irrigation pumps) reduce available amperage proportionally. Do not plan circuit loading based on theoretical maximums. Have a licensed electrician calculate actual circuit capacity based on the full load of all connected devices before deploying multiple units on a shared circuit. The 10-unit fleet row in the Facility Integration Data table draws 5.5A at maximum — a reasonable starting point for circuit planning conversations with your electrical contractor.

Q: Does the Bluetooth remote control feature require a subscription or ongoing connectivity to function?

A: The AC-FKS4 supports Bluetooth pairing with the AC Infinity app for remote speed adjustment and monitoring. Bluetooth connectivity operates over short range and does not require an internet connection for local control within Bluetooth range. App-based features, cloud scheduling, and remote access beyond Bluetooth range may require internet connectivity and are subject to AC Infinity's current app terms and feature availability. Cannafull Spectrum Solutions does not control AC Infinity's app infrastructure or subscription policies. Contact AC Infinity directly for current app feature scope and any associated account requirements.
