Consumer-grade equipment and guesswork-driven growing impose a cost that never appears on a single invoice — it accumulates invisibly across every dark-cycle entry, every uncontrolled light exposure, every crop that finishes two weeks late because a maintenance check triggered a stress response in a light-sensitive room. Operators relying on improvised solutions — white overheads, filtered flashlights, or simply avoiding the room entirely — are not managing their environment. They are gambling with it. The silent tax is inconsistency: variable finish windows, unpredictable secondary metabolite expression, and crop cycles that drift because the dark period was never truly protected.
After deploying a purpose-built dark-cycle work light, the cultivation room operates on a different standard. Technicians can enter, inspect, adjust, and service equipment at any point in the photoperiod schedule without hesitation. Irrigation lines get checked on time. Environmental sensors get calibrated on schedule. Canopy observations happen when they need to happen — not when the light schedule permits. The facility runs on operator terms, not on the crop's sensitivity to uncontrolled light intrusion. That is what a protected dark cycle looks like in practice: a room that is always accessible, always manageable, and always producing on schedule.
The mechanism behind that outcome is a precisely engineered 525 nm green wavelength, delivered by 18 Osram diodes across a 16.02 x 1.08 in. (40.7 x 2.75 cm) unibody bar. Green light at this wavelength is processed differently by plant photoreceptors than red or blue wavelengths — at output levels below 10 nanomoles per second, it does not activate the phytochrome responses that govern photoperiod transitions. The AC-NEG16 operates at 12W on 100-240V AC input, draws 2.0A, and includes a Dimming Timer Controller with four intensity levels and auto-off programming in 5, 10, 15, and 20-minute increments. IP65-rated construction handles the humidity and condensation of sealed cultivation environments. UIS platform compatibility connects the fixture to the AC Infinity app via WiFi for integrated scheduling across the full equipment ecosystem. In practical terms, the AC-NEG16 IONBEAM Green delivers 525 nm green illumination across up to 10x10 ft cultivation spaces at 12W draw, with automated timer control and four-level dimming managed through the UIS Cortex platform.
Where This Belongs (and Doesn't)
The AC-NEG16 operates on a standard US Plug (NEMA 1-15 Type-A) at 12W / 2.0A. No dedicated circuit is required for the fixture itself; however, verify that the outlet circuit serving the cultivation room is not shared with high-draw equipment that could cause voltage fluctuation affecting timer controller accuracy.
- Photoperiod-sensitive cultivation rooms requiring dark-cycle maintenance access
- Sealed indoor grow environments up to 10x10 ft coverage area
- Facilities running UIS-integrated atmospheric control ecosystems
- Multi-canopy rooms where technicians need hands-free, scheduled illumination during dark periods
- Operations pairing supplemental green spectrum with blue/red primary fixtures to expand overall spectral coverage
- Primary canopy illumination — this fixture is a work light, not a growth driver
- Spaces larger than 10x10 ft where uniform coverage is required at safe output levels
- Outdoor or unprotected installations (IP65 covers humidity and dust; not rated for direct precipitation exposure)
- Operations that do not require dark-cycle access and have no supplemental spectrum gap to address
Infrastructure Note: The AC-NEG16 mounts magnetically to grow tent frames, bar-style lighting fixtures, and other magnetic surfaces. No tools or hardware installation required. For permanent commercial installation, verify that mounting surfaces meet local code requirements for installed lighting equipment.
How It Works
The AC-NEG16 IONBEAM Green operates on a single-wavelength 525 nm green LED platform using 18 Osram diodes per bar. At this wavelength, photons interact with plant tissue in a fundamentally different way than the red (600-700 nm) and blue (400-500 nm) wavelengths that drive photosynthesis and photoperiod signaling. Phytochrome photoreceptors — the molecular switches that govern flowering transitions in photoperiod-sensitive plants — are minimally activated by 525 nm green light at output levels below 10 nanomoles per second. The AC-NEG16 is engineered to operate within that threshold, providing sufficient illumination for operator visibility and task execution without crossing into the activation range that would register as a light interruption to the crop.
The included Dimming Timer Controller (3.31 x 1.26 in. / 8.4 x 3.2 cm) provides four discrete intensity levels, allowing operators to dial output to the minimum necessary for the task at hand. Auto-off programming in 5, 10, 15, and 20-minute increments eliminates the risk of a fixture being left on past its intended window — a critical safeguard in facilities where a single uncontrolled dark-cycle interruption can delay an entire harvest cycle. The detachable diffuser softens the 525 nm output and distributes it more evenly across the coverage footprint, reducing hot-spot intensity directly beneath the bar. The unibody bar measures 16.02 x 1.08 in. (40.7 x 2.75 cm), mounts magnetically to tent frames and bar-style fixtures, and carries an IP65 rating for operation in high-humidity sealed environments with operating temperatures from 32 to 140°F. UIS platform integration connects the AC-NEG16 to the AC Infinity app over WiFi, enabling scheduled automated deployment alongside fans, controllers, and other ecosystem components. The 8 ft. (96 in.) power cord accommodates standard rack and tent mounting configurations without extension requirements. In practical terms, the AC-NEG16 delivers 525 nm green illumination at 12W / 2.0A across up to 10x10 ft cultivation spaces with automated timer shutoff and four-level dimming, rated for 50,000 hours of continuous operation in IP65-certified humid environments.

System Integration
To operate this platform at peak efficiency, verify your ecosystem matches these requirements:
- Controller Compatibility: Integrates with UIS-compatible controllers via the AC Infinity app over WiFi. For automated scheduling alongside fans, environmental controllers, and other UIS devices, a UIS hub or compatible controller is required.
- Mounting Surface: Magnetic mounting requires a ferromagnetic surface — standard steel grow tent frames and most bar-style LED fixtures qualify. Verify surface compatibility before deployment in non-standard rack configurations.
- Power: US Plug (NEMA 1-15 Type-A), 100-240V AC, 50/60 Hz, 2.0A. Standard outlet compatible. Verify outlet availability at mounting location given the 8 ft. (96 in.) cord length.
- Environmental Setpoints: Rated for 32 to 140°F operating temperature range. IP65 construction supports high-humidity sealed cultivation environments. No additional environmental conditioning required for the fixture itself.
- Supplemental Spectrum Pairing: When deployed as a spectrum supplement alongside primary fixtures, pair with blue and red diode arrays to address spectral gaps. The 525 nm green channel fills the mid-spectrum range not covered by most red/blue-dominant primary fixtures.
Recommended Primary Fixture Pairings
Match your supplemental bar to the primary fixture covering the same footprint.
| Primary Fixture | Canopy Footprint | Recommended Bar | Deployment Note |
|---|---|---|---|
|
IonBoard S22 115W board |
2×2 ft. | IONBEAM S11 (4-bar, 11") | 11" bars fit tightly within the 2×2 ft. footprint without overhang. Position 2 bars on opposing sides of the canopy for bilateral inter-canopy light penetration. The S22 overhead board leaves lateral zones underlit — S11 fills that gap. |
|
IonBoard S24 220W board |
2×4 ft. | IONBEAM S11 (4-bar, 11") | S11 bars position along the short axis of the 2×4 ft. tent to supplement center row and edge zones the overhead board does not penetrate at depth. Run 2–4 bars per kit depending on canopy density. |
|
IonBoard S33 260W board |
3×3 ft. | IONBEAM S11 (4-bar, 11") | 11" bars span the 3×3 ft. canopy row width with clearance on both ends, reducing hot-spot risk at bar tips. Distribute 4 bars at even intervals across the canopy plane for uniform inter-canopy photon distribution. |
|
IonBoard S44 430W board |
4×4 ft. | IONBEAM S16 (4-bar, 16") | 16" bars span the 4×4 ft. canopy row width evenly. S11 bars (11") leave uncovered lateral zones in a 4×4 ft. footprint. S16 is the correct bar length for this fixture pairing. |
|
IonFrame EVO3 280W bar fixture |
2×4 ft. | IONBEAM S11 (4-bar, 11") | IonFrame bar fixtures deliver deep canopy penetration overhead but leave side-canopy zones underlit in dense structures. S11 bars complement the EVO3 by filling the inter-canopy lateral gap across the short axis of the 2×4 ft. footprint. |
|
IonFrame EVO4 / EVO6 430W / 620W bar fixture |
4×4 ft. | IONBEAM S16 (4-bar, 16") | 16" bars match the 4×4 ft. canopy row width for the EVO4 and EVO6 footprints. Position bars at canopy level along the 4-foot axis for bilateral penetration into the mid and lower canopy zones the overhead bars do not reach. |
|
IonFrame EVO8 / EVO10 730W / 1000W bar fixture |
4×8 ft. / 5×5 ft. | IONBEAM S16 × 2 kits | Large-canopy EVO fixtures require multiple S16 kits for full-footprint inter-canopy coverage. Baseline deployment: 1 kit per 4×4 ft. zone. Link bars via the included connector cords for extended lateral coverage across the long axis. |
All IONBEAM bars include a standalone Dimming Schedule Controller and operate independently — AC Infinity UIS ecosystem integration is available but not required for third-party primary fixture deployments.

Operator Field Note
- Output Threshold: The AC-NEG16 is rated for safe photoperiod operation at output levels below 10 nanomoles per second. Do not operate at maximum intensity for extended periods in rooms with highly sensitive photoperiod cultivars without first verifying output at canopy level.
- Electrical Draw: 12W / 2.0A on a standard NEMA 1-15 Type-A outlet. No dedicated circuit required. The 8 ft. (96 in.) power cord is fixed — plan mounting position relative to outlet location before magnetic attachment.
- Magnetic Mounting: Mounting force is dependent on surface ferromagnetism. Verify holding strength on non-standard surfaces before leaving the fixture unattended in overhead positions above active canopy.
- Humidity Environment: IP65 rating covers dust ingress and water jets. The fixture is appropriate for high-humidity sealed cultivation environments operating within the 32 to 140°F temperature range. Do not submerge or expose to direct water flow beyond IP65 parameters.
- Timer Dependency: The auto-off function is a safeguard, not a substitute for operational protocol. Establish facility-level SOPs for dark-cycle entry that include fixture activation and timer confirmation as a checklist step.
- UIS Integration: WiFi-enabled scheduling requires a UIS-compatible controller or hub. Standalone operation via the onboard Dimming Timer Controller is fully functional without network connectivity.
Operator FAQ
Q: What circuit and amperage requirements does the AC-NEG16 need?
A: The AC-NEG16 draws 12W at 2.0A on a standard 100-240V AC, 50/60 Hz circuit via a US Plug (NEMA 1-15 Type-A). No dedicated circuit is required. The fixture can share a standard outlet circuit with other low-draw equipment. Verify that the shared circuit is not loaded near capacity by other high-draw cultivation equipment before installation.
Q: What controller modes does the AC-NEG16 support, and does it require a UIS controller to operate?
A: The AC-NEG16 includes an onboard Dimming Timer Controller that operates fully standalone — no UIS controller or network connection is required for basic operation. The controller provides four discrete intensity levels and auto-off programming in 5, 10, 15, and 20-minute increments. For facilities running the AC Infinity UIS ecosystem, the AC-NEG16 can connect to UIS-compatible controllers to integrate with the AC Infinity app over WiFi, enabling automated scheduling alongside other ecosystem components.
Q: What is the recommended mounting height for the AC-NEG16?
A: The AC-NEG16 is designed for magnetic mounting to grow tent frames, bar-style lighting fixtures, and other ferromagnetic surfaces — it is not a downlight fixture with a specified hanging height. Mount it at the height of your existing frame or fixture infrastructure. For coverage of up to 10x10 ft spaces, positioning at standard tent frame height (typically 5-8 ft above floor level) is appropriate. The key operational parameter is maintaining output below 10 nanomoles per second at canopy level, not a specific mounting height.
Q: What are the coverage dimensions for the AC-NEG16?
A: The AC-NEG16 IONBEAM Green is rated for coverage of up to 10x10 ft grow spaces with minimal impact on photoperiod plants. This coverage specification applies to its function as a dark-cycle work light operating at 525 nm below 10 nanomoles per second. It is not a primary growth fixture and does not carry separate vegetative or flowering coverage ratings — its coverage specification is defined by its safe-output operational envelope, not by PPFD targets.
Q: What is the rated lifespan of the AC-NEG16, and what maintenance does it require?
A: The AC-NEG16 is rated for 50,000 hours of operational life per AC Infinity source data. The 18 Osram 525 nm diodes are solid-state with no replaceable lamp components — there are no bulb replacement cycles, no re-lamping costs, and no scheduled maintenance intervals for the light source itself. Routine maintenance is limited to periodic cleaning of the IP65-rated bar surface and diffuser to maintain even output distribution. Inspect the magnetic mounting contact points periodically to verify secure attachment.
